He holds a PhD in Biological Diversity and the Environment and a Master’s degree in Conservation and Management of Biodiversity in the Tropics.
His career has focused on the design and implementation of environmental management plans, habitat restoration, and the reintroduction of key species, integrating an approach based on complex socio-ecological systems. He has led territorial planning and participatory governance processes, ensuring the sustainability of protected areas through adaptive management models and strategic financing.
Recognized for his ability to bridge science, environmental policy, and sustainable development, he has contributed to the formulation of regulatory frameworks and climate-resilient conservation strategies. His leadership has been key in the implementation of internationally scaled programs, ensuring collaboration among governmental, academic, and community stakeholders.
Author of numerous scientific publications and books on conservation, he has been honored with awards such as the Neotropical Conservation Award and the Medal for Scientific Merit. His career combines innovation in naval design and advanced manufacturing with a strong focus on sustainability. His undergraduate research on a zero-emission hydrofoil fast ferry was refined in collaboration with his advisor and an external CFD specialist, securing a £1.7 million grant. In partnership with Chartwell Marine, this concept has evolved to the construction and testing phase, paving the way for large-scale production.
He also has experience in the manufacturing and customization of fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) components, including carbon fiber parts for high-performance sailboats. His expertise also extends to the maintenance and repair of motor and sailing vessels, with a comprehensive focus on the structural integrity of composite materials and mechanical systems.
With extensive experience in coastal and offshore sailing, Anson has developed strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose critical failures away from port, bringing a practical technical perspective to the operation and design of sustainable vessels.
